Suit consultation at Sett with fabrics and buttons

Made-to-measure tailoring creates a suit around your individual measurements, rather than starting with a standard off-the-rack size. You can choose the fabric, cut and details, while we make sure the fit works for your shape and how you want to wear it.

Made-to-measure and made-to-order are often used interchangeably, but they are not quite the same. Made-to-order typically means a garment is produced to your chosen specifications, while made-to-measure involves taking your individual measurements to create a more precise fit. You can read more about the difference in our guide to made-to-measure vs made-to-order tailoring.

Your appointment starts with a relaxed consultation where we’ll talk through what you’re looking for, from the fit and cut to fabrics and finishing details. We’ll then take your measurements and guide you through the options, making sure your suit feels like you.

It usually takes 8-10 weeks from your first fitting to your finished suit. We take the time to get every detail right. If you’re planning to buy a suit in Glasgow for an event, we recommend starting early. Faster turnaround may be possible, please just ask.

Absolutely. We welcome everyone into Sett and tailor each suit around the individual wearing it. Whether you’re looking for something traditional, modern or completely your own, our consultations are about understanding what you want and creating a suit you feel comfortable and confident in.

Absolutely. Made-to-measure means your suit is created around your individual measurements, rather than a standard off-the-rack size. Whether you have a broader chest, longer arms or simply struggle to find a suit that fits comfortably, we can tailor the fit to you. You can even bring along a garment that fits you perfectly, and we can use it as a guide to replicate the fit you love.

Not at the moment. Our suits are fully bespoke and made-to-measure, which means we need to see you in person for fittings. We believe that’s the only way to deliver the quality and fit we’re known for in Glasgow.
