SETT The Scene – Devil of Brooklyn
Monday 26th January
Empty whiskey glasses, a half drank pint and someone’s forgotten jacket draped across the back of a chair. Amongst all of this, four guys dressed to impress in their made to measure suits from Sett, ending the night at the Devil of Brooklyn.
We took four Glaswegians, an amazing photographer, Mark Seager and our creative team to the Devil of Brooklyn to capture the joy and chaos of after Wedding drinks.
Let’s meet the guys and their made to measure suits…
Charlie:
Musician, fashion designer and Southside resident, Charlie does it all. To reflect, this we created a suit for Charlie using the key word: versatility. Matching Charlie’s creative flair, we designed a suit with bold 70s flair. Created from a rust red Abraham Moon Tweed, this double breasted two-piece suit with peak lapels speak to decades past, while maintaining a contemporary feel. The suit is completed with a Liberty patterned lining from Huddersfield Mill.
Lewis:
For local professional Lewis, we were inspired by his travels to Italy to create a three piece linen suit. This suit is perfect for spring and summer weddings, with its soft green tones and floral Liberty lining. The straight edged waistcoat provides a different look that can be worn without the jacket to create a more informal feel for those warm summer days.
Ronan:
As a PhD candidate, Ronan needed a suit that worked for both the lecture theatre and evening catch ups in the pub. Created from a merino wool plain weave fabric from Abraham Moon in a deep navy, the suit takes on the look of denim, fitting both formal and casual settings. This is taken further by the patch pockets on the jackets and the turn-ups on the trousers, which allow the outfit to be worn easily with a casual shoe. Picture a high top Converse or Doc Marten boot.
Chris:
Owner of local barbershop Tenement and our neighbour, Chris has a style all of his own. We wanted to lean into this by creating him a suit based on the mod look of the 1960s. The mod style can be characterised by slim fit suits, with clean shapes and bold patterned fabrics.
To achieve this look, we used a fun checked cloth found in the Bespoke Flannel range from Bateman Ogden. This cloth consists of a blue houndstooth pattern with a mustard check, a colour that was picked up on in the accessories. Additionally, the suit jacket has a three button closure to create a straighter and sharper silhouette.
The suits for these four guys highlight how our suits can be designed to fit your own style and lifestyle, transforming them from one off pieces to wardrobe staples. If you would like our help bringing your perfect suit to life get in touch with us and book a consultation!
